The other week I was lucky enough to go along to the beautiful Isla Gladstone Conservatory located within Stanley Park for the Official Launch of the JustBella.com shop an all new online shopping experience!
Just Bella is the brain child of Liverpool entrepreneur Jody Riley, who started the venture just over a year ago as a hair and beauty booking platform. Hot on the heels of the websites success Jody has expanded the business to include the new Just Bella Shop, created as a one stop shop for fashion and beauty products. What makes the site different is that the company works together with boutiques, fashion designers and beauty retailers to offer their items for sale online, meaning you’ve the chance to get your hands on unique products that won’t be available on the high streets.
The event was held in this wonderful restored conservatory within the grounds of Stanley Park, it’s a magnificent space and would make a stunning wedding venue! I’d heard about it but had never visited it before, underneath there is a nice looking café that I may give a whirl during the summer months when you can sit outside on the terrace.
Inside the venue we were treated to a glass of champers with delicious cupcakes and there was a chance to roam around exploring the many exhibitors who had come along to showcase their products. My mum and I had fun trying out body scrubs and other scrumptious smelling products at the Moonlily Artisan Soap stand. Moonlily hand make their products using natural ingredients such as virgin olive oil, shea butter and rosehip oil. We actually purchased some items which I will review in a separate post soon. I also tried out some Primer and Foundation from Arbonne, which I found to give quite impressive coverage, I was tempted to purchase it but I want to finish off some other products I have first.
One of the main sponsors of the event was newly opened local business Hello Goodness UK, a Juice Bar and Grill concept with a difference as they also freshly prepare and deliver bespoke diet plans straight to your door! The owner was very knowledgeable about nutrition and has worked in the health and fitness industry for many years. We enjoyed trying out their smoothie samples, anything with avocado always gets my vote, yummy! They are currently open in South Road, Waterloo with plans to expand in locations across Liverpool very soon.
Local blogger legend Scouse Bird Problems was also there with a stand of products based around her very funny tongue-in-cheek humour that all her followers know and love. I’ve been following her on Twitter for a long time and her posts never fail to give me a giggle! My fave item was the Tansie, a onesie for after your spray tan or home fake tanning session, no more stained bed sheets! Absolute genius!
The evening’s jam packed schedule continued with entertainment from local singer/songwriter talent, Clare Sophia who is not only a gorgeous girl but also has an amazing voice to go along with it! The Ambition band fresh off the train from London after a battle of the bands competition, provided a fun set of covers that they truly made their own.
Canapé’s were served as we took up our seats on the FROW ready for the fashion show hosted by Liverpool’s Big Brother star Mark Byron. By the way the lovely red jumpsuit Clare is wearing is from Zuso Clothing and is available through the Just Bella website.
My pictures of the fashion show are not the best, they came out a little blurry and on the dark side, they really don’t do the pieces justice! Some of the designs by Jake Phillip Nuttall were stunning! Check out his Instagram account for much better pictures of the night!
The show also featured designs from Patty Fashion a bespoke fashion store based on Bold Street in the city centre. All of the pieces were perfect for festive partying in town!
All shopped and fashioned out Mum and I headed for home. What a fabulous event it was, we really enjoyed ourselves, thanks to Lauren and Chic PR for the invitation! I wish Jody and Just Bella every success! Go check out all of the links in my post and support independent businesses!
Peace and Love
