I’m back after a rather long blogging sabbatical! I won’t go into details but I had my reasons for not blogging for a while. Anyway, I’m back!
Last week I had the pleasure of being invited along to Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar by the lovely Espa Skincare team, who held a really great bloggers event in the store’s WOW Champagne Bar to celebrate the launch of their “Book of Summer” gift set. I was super excited to attend as firstly I absolutely love Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar and secondly I’m mad about Espa treatments especially the facials!! The WOW bar (a fab place to stop for mid shop cocktails, BTW!) was the perfect setting for a girlie get together, think bling, champagne, delicious canapés and air filled with the wonderful aroma of Espa’s hand poured essential oil candles.
A warm and fizzy welcome was given to all, then Danielle (Espa Team Manager) introduced herself and team members Anna and Tinisha who incidentally, were all lovely and extremely knowledgeable about all the products and skincare in general. We were to be treated to a skin analysis, hand and arm massage along with a chance to try out the three “Hero” products from the summer gift set.
The “Book of Summer” (25.00 GBP) contains 3 of Espa’s most iconic skincare products.
1. Pink Hair and Scalp Mud – Danielle described this as the ultimate hero product. It’s super hydrating and can be used on far more than just the hair and scalp for example, it can be used in pregnancy to keep the skin supple and stretch marks at bay as well as for nourishing very dry skin. It can be used as an overnight hair mask and since the pink colour disappears on application there’s no need to worry about messy pillows in the morning! Dry hands and Feet? Why not slather a layer of this on after exfoliating and leave overnight to work it’s magic, it’s even used as part of Espa’s prenatal treatments. Such a hardworking product! I’m dying to try it!
2. Optimal Skin ProSerum – Is a powerful troubleshooting serum for the face that helps to combat aging, lock in moisture, even skintone, calms and soothes. Containing Omega 3, 6 and 9 along with Rosehip and Echium Oils it’s a potent skin rejuvenator with 99% natural ingredients. I can tell you that despite being an oil the skin really drinks this in and doesn’t leave your face greasy. The smallest amount goes a long way, I’m trying it out at the moment and will report back when I finish the samples.
3. 24-Hour Replenishing Moisturiser – A vitamin E rich product that also contains Evening Primrose, Jojoba, Myrrh, Frankincense and Neroli. Apply it after the ProSerum for that antioxidant boost to prevent early signs of ageing and keep skin supple and quenched.
After much testing of the products and sniffing of the fabulous aromatherapy oils contained within, we headed over to Anna who carried out a skin analysis on us all in order to prescribe the best selection of sample products for us to try. Anna explained that one of the secrets of selecting the best aromatherapy products for you is through scent, a deep inhale will draw you towards whatever your skin is most in need of. Anne soaked cotton pads with two types of toner and we let our noses guide us, I tell you what, this trick was actually spot on for all of us in the group. I was drawn to the Hydrating Floral Spafresh which is great for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, it also helps to cool and combat redness, which is something I have been suffering from lately. With my “Beauty In The Bag – Replenishing Skin Collection” safely tucked under my arm I headed over to Tinisha for the hand and arm massage.
Tinisha started off using Exfoliating Body Polish to really invigorate the arms and remove dead skins cells, then she applied the Cooling Body Moisturizer giving a relaxing massage as the product sunk into the skin.
Feeling suitably pampered we retired back to WOW Bar for canapé’s and girlies chats! I met some lovely fellow bloggers Sarah and Hannah, please check out a their blogs www.salocainwonderland.co.uk and www.hannahjanebeauty.com. Hannah’s blog is having some work at the moment so I’ve supplied a link to her Facebook page instead.
A big thank you to Danielle and the team for such a wonderful, enjoyable evening and for pampering my well deserving Mum! I will be trying out all the sample products I got over the next few weeks and will report back on my progress with them.
Peace and Love
