Hubs and I were extremely pleased and excited to attend the launch party for the opening of the newest branch of the legendary French patisserie Laduree, in Dubai. To say I am a fan of Laduree is a massive understatement for I am in fact OBSSESSED! I had a Laduree themed wedding, complete with Macaron tower for goodness sake!
Why am I so enamored with this place? It’s chic, it’s French, it’s luxury, it’s indulgence done with decadence and style, what’s not to fall in completely in love with? Everything about Laduree is just beautifully realised from the pastel shade, gold detailed interior design through to the intricately decorated and delicately flavoured pastry creations. The attention to detail here is second to none, it’s all polished silverware and pristinely crisp white table linen even the Raspberries placed atop the Raspberry and Passionfruit Tart stand to uniformed attention, always identical, always perfectly juicy and the just right side of sweet!
I am super excited about the new restaurant which is situated at The Beach in JBR, part of the new development there, it is the first Laduree with a beach front location and will serve a broader selection than it’s sister branch at Dubai Mall which is mainly a café style menu and is BTW, the perfect shopping pit stop. There are a lot of things on the menu here that I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting yet, so I look forward to indulging very soon and will of course report back.
Here’s some details from the party
This Laduree features a large display counter near to the entrance, a rather grand staircase that leads to the large upper floor dining area with outdoor balcony terrace looking out over the beach and the ground floor terrace seating area below. On the ground floor there is also a good sized dining space with large doors that open out onto the terrace, perfect during the cooler months to experience that fresh sea air. As you can see from the pictures, the interior is dreamy.
You will find the most delicious array of sweet treats to choose from here, the hot chocolate and café viennois are also divine and make a great accompaniment to a selection of macarons.
We were served a selection of canapés, which featured mini versions of some of the dishes you will find on the menu. The mini burgers, salmon blinis and vol-au-vent were perfect, in fact there wasn’t anything we did not enjoy tasting!
Everything you purchase from Laduree gets packaged in the signature pastel coloured gift boxes, so if you are looking for something special as a gift for someone you will really score brownie points with something from this huge display counter!
Laduree also make wedding cakes and have the cutest ever ice cream carts that can attend events and weddings giving your guests the chance to taste the finest French glaces. For more information on event catering contact Ms. Ilhame Mezziouane, Sales Manager on +971502487471
Hubs and I were certainly impressed by the new restaurant and look forward to visiting again soon, perhaps for a leisurely weekend breakfast that we can stretch past noon so that we can enjoy dessert. Oh hang on a minute, who says you can’t enjoy cake for breakfast? In my opinion dessert at Laduree is acceptable at any time of the day! LOL
