Ines De La Fressange PARIS for UNIQLO

Hello Lovelies!

What a blooming marvelous day it is!  It was raining here yesterday but today the sky is blue and the sun has got his hat on once more!  I want to enjoy this weather as much as I can before it starts to change, the humidity levels rise and we all start to become soaking hot messes!  Just now though it is rather reminiscent of a beautiful summers day in England.  It’s the kind of weather that puts that fluttery feeling in your tummy, filling you with excitement as you kiss goodbye to rainy, dismal days and get ready to embrace the suns rays upon your skin, you can dust off the barbeque and look forward to lighter nights.  The air smells different and you start to feel inexplicably happier and mush more energetic.  You begin to rummage through your wardrobe looking for cooler things to wear, you want to find something floaty and might even release your legs from the thick fabrics you’ve had them incased in for the best part of a year!  Fake tan sales must soar because no one wants to unleash pasty looking legs on the world now do they?  Except Nicole Kidman (or me of course!)  Ok, so this beautiful weather is a bit of a rarity these days and doesn’t seem to last that long, those amazing summer days I recall from my youth are becoming a distant memory more and more (it’s not my age of course, it must be global warming!!! lol).  Anyway, you get the gist of what the weather is like, I hope.  It’s simply the perfect time for me to have discovered that French style icon, Ines De La Fressange has just launched her latest collaboration with high street retailer UNIQLO.

Ines, was for many years one of Karl Lagerfeld’s Muses, exclusively modeling for Chanel in the 1980’s.  A member of the French aristocracy, her father was a Marquis and her mother a former Argentinian model, some might say that Ines was born to become the epitome of Parisian Chic and she certainly is!  She simply embodies that elegant, effortless and timeless look that I have come to associate with classic French style over the years.  I got her book “Parisian Chic” a while ago now and I really do try to take on some of her tips.  They key is to develop a capsule wardrobe of simple, stylish and quality pieces, then add in some high fashion touches by using accessories or by the way you roll your sleeves, drape your jumper or jacket, etc.  These days Ines models rarely, preferring to concentrate more on her fashion businesses, designing and her role as Brand Ambassador for Roger Vivier shoes (you simply must visit their website!  It is amaze!).

Here is Ines explaining more about the collaboration and modeling some of the collection around Paris.  Oh how I miss stomping the streets of that wonderful city, especially in the summer timeShe is 56!  Can you believe it?

The collection of highly wearable pieces are reasonably priced and very much in demand it seems!  Almost everything on the UNIQLO website is already sold out!  I am not sure about the stores?  I am crossing my fingers that there will be more stock released, but the retailer does warn that they only have a limited number of items.  Sniff, Sniff!  I hope I find something (the bottom lip is out!)  Here are my picks of what’s still available online.  I think these are must have items for your wardrobe and just in time for those early summer days we all long for so much.  Chic summer elegance can be yours……Think Juliette Binoche in the movie Chocolat (sigh!)
